Steven McLean is a student/athlete/pro surfer currently surfing New Smyrna Beach. Aside from its close proximity to his university, Steven says—“It’s a small town, but always has waves and tons of good surfers”. Steven is currently surfing on the World Longboard Tour and is amped for more chances to compete worldwide.
Steven began competing at age 15, in the National Surfing Scholastic Association. At 17, he won his first NSSA National title for Open Longboard in California. In 2012, he won the Explorer and Open Longboard in the NSSA National Championships in Huntington Beach, California.
“Surfing is my life and what I base everything around. I’m in the water every day, even if it's knee-high and choppy. I really enjoy riding all types of boards, from twin fin fishes to high-performance longboards,” he says.
Steven says, “I want to inspire people with surfing and surf the most perfect waves possible,” and he's always on the search for the next great wave and shares the stoke through his killer performances.
